Even as technology creates new ways to tell stories there remains a huge world-wide audience that truly enjoys the written word.

ChapterOnez.com is designed to bring the works of new writers to the attention of the publishing industry; and we will also introduce new works to 10s even 100s of thousands of readers world-wide.

Because we are exploring various ways that we can use the Internet to bring good text-based stories to readers, some of our future works will be available in their entirety here, in a variety of formats:

Some of these books will have the added value of multimedia (audio and video), hypermedia and interactive elements. These books are designed to be read onscreen through a browser window.

Downloadable books

Such books can be downloaded from the Internet and viewed through any number of hardware devices. These include PCs, laptops, PDA’s (personal digital assistants), palm PC’s or palmtops, or dedicated e-book readers

E-book devices

Rocket eBook, from Nuvomedia and the SoftBook from SoftBook Press are two examples. These are small computers about the size of a paperback. Each has a backlighted screens that allow the reader to read, save, highlight, bookmark, or annotate the text. Both can download books from websites.

Web books

These books assume a variety of forms depending on the level of backend programming that is done to enhance their onscreen effects. It is possible for an entire interactive web site to have a single story as its content.
